Project description

  • Capacity                       13 BCM/y  (10 MTPA)
  • LNG storage                3 x 190,000 m3 (full containment)
  • Unloading capacity   12,000 m3/h
  • Send-out capacity    1.9 million m3(n)/h
  • LNG carrier size         75,000 to 267,000 m3
  • Vaporizers                   Open Rack Vaporizers supplied with water taken from the cooling water of the nearby Gravelines nuclear power plant and transported to the terminal BY a 5 km underground tunnel

 

Scope of work

  • In June 2011, DUNKERQUE LNG (ELECTRICITE DE FRANCE 65% – FLUXYS 25% – TOTAL 10%) awarded three EPC contracts for the construction of the LNG terminal: tanks, re-gasification plant and tunnel.
  • DUNKERQUE LNG set up, through COFIVA, an integrated Project Management Team
  • SOFREGAZ engineers have been, within this team, in charge of the review and follow-up of engineering activities developed by the EPC contractors, from basic engineering to commissioning in the following disciplines:
    • Management of engineering supervision of tanks and tunnel
    • Process
    • Mechanical
    • Tanks (mechanical)
    • Safety design
    • Electricity
    • Control & Instrumentation

The first LNG for cooling down the terminal was unloaded in July 2016.
